Tasting Notes
A glittering, sumptuous gold-pink hue. The fine, creamy effervescence creates an elegant bead. Seductive and subtle on the nose, developing delicate aromas of wild berries and red currants, set off by fine vanilla notes. Full, refined and complex, it is deliciously appetizing on the palate, where delectable notes of crushed strawberries, blackcurrants and spices pirouette in perfect harmony in a ballet which finishes on a dainty note of fine  patisserie. Perfect balance between powerful aromas and a fine structure. It is a truly seductive champagne. Attractive, rich and precise while still at a young stage in its development, it already shows very good length on the finish. An extremely promising cuvee, in the purest Deutz style, representing the culmination of Maison Deutz “Trio de Prestige”.

Composition of the Blend
The “Amour de Deutz Rose 2006” cuvee is made up of Pinot Noir (55%) mostly from terroirs in Ay, Verzenay and Bouzy, and Chardonnay (45%) from vineyards in Avize, Chouilly and Villers-Margery”. This champagne’s distinctive style and colour come from the addition to the blend of an 8% proportion of fine Pinot Noir red wine, produced by Deutz from parcels of old vines growing on the Ay hillside (“La Pelle”) and in Mareuil-sur-Ay (“Cumaine” and “Charmont”).

Food and wine pairing
The Amour de Deutz Rose cuvee is the ideal companion to life’s finest moments. A luxurious aperitif, it will also partner well with delicate, subtle, well balanced dishes. It will pair very nicely with a grilled lobster or with the fine flesh of delicate fish such as Red Mullet or John Dory. It can also complement and will even magnify, a Kobe beef carpaccio, baby lamb or a fine pigeon cooked in cherries.

Accolades
"A new king has ascended in the great kingdom of Deutz rosé. It takes all the wizardry and resources of Deutz to create a new rosé of such thrilling, towering magnificence, at once ethereal in its elegance, precise in its definition and fairy-light on its feet, yet grand in its presence and depth of fruit power. An instant addition to Champagne’s top tier of rosés." - Tyson Stelzer

"Dressed in a beautifully bright and brillant salmon rosé color and further characterized by a creamy effervescence creating an extremely noble bead chain, a ridiculously pure, subtle, refined and delicate aroma of red currant, white nectarines, coconut milk, wild flowers (alpine rose) and berries as well as densely woven minerals is revealed on the nose. On the palate this light-hearted yet full-flavored and persistent prestige Champagne reveals a delicate, fresh, racy, tightly yet stimulating mineral character, which is generous enough to admit refined, bright, red fruit flavors. This is a filigreed top class Champagne - respectively an aristocratic ambassador of Rosé Champagne for those of you who already love Rosé Champagne but also for these who believe to prefer their Champagnes white." - 95 Points, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

"With its beautiful rose color and delicate flavors, this continues the elegant tradition of Amour de Deutz. It’s one of the Champagne house’s three prestige cuvées and the most refined. This crisp wine, with its soft acidity, ripe strawberry fruits and tang of citrus is ready to drink, although it will age in bottle for many years." - 95 Points, Wine Enthusiast

"The 2006 Amour de Deutz Rosé replaces the William Deutz Rosé in the house's range. Powerful and broad from the outset, the pale-colored 2006 boasts serious intensity, with a compelling interplay of fruit and structure. Cranberry, rose petal and mint are some of the notes that gradually emerge from this sinewy, structured Champagne. Expressive chalky notes support the brisk, intensely saline finish. The 2006 is going to be a gorgeous Champagne to follow for the better part of the next decade or longer. The blend is 55% Pinot Noir (from Aÿ, Verzenay and Bouzy) and 45% Chardonnay (from Avize, Chouilly and Villers-Margery.)" - 94 Points, Vinous

"The toasted brioche and smoke notes are a rich, aromatic entry into this harmonious Champagne, which seamlessly knits a firm frame and refined mousse with flavors of crème de cassis, roasted hazelnut, oyster shell and spice. Drink now through 2030." - 93 Points, Wine Spectator
